Kabwata Cultural Village is located on  Burma Road in Lusaka. The tiny village is aimed at tourists and foreign visitors wishing to purchase souvenirs and African Inspired Pieces. The village includes several thatched huts from where the traders sell their hand made souvenirs and crafts. The huts or ‘rondavels’ were built in the 1930’s and 1940’s by the colonial government for housing for single male labourers. Some of the huts have been saved to house artists from across Zambia. The goods sold at Kabwata Cultural Village include  wooden statues, canvas paintings, hand made bowls and jewellery, tablecloths and a range of drums and djembes. During the winter months, on Sundays, there are traditional dance and musical performances.
